The online applications for 2021 Thuthuka Bursary are currently open. The Thuthuka Bursary Fund is intended for academically strong black and coloured students, excelling in Mathematics, who wish to pursue a career in Chartered Accountancy (SA).

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  1. South African citizen
  2. Black student (African or Coloured)
  3. Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
  4. Meet the university entrance qualifying criteria to study a BCom Accounting (CA-stream) degree qualification
  5. Proven financial need (this will be assessed by the NSFAS means test)-combined family income must be less than R350 000
  6. Have written OR will apply and write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before the bursary closing date

The following documents will be required to  successfully complete your online application:

  1. Signed consent form (Download Application Form)Applicant’s ID
  2. Parent(s)’/Guardian(s)’ ID
  3. Parent(s)’/Guardian(s)’ salary slip
  4. Copies of ID documents of persons dependent on family income
  5. Final Grade 11 results
  6. Final Grade 12 results (if completed Grade 12)
  7. Full university transcript (if already at University)
  8. University provisional acceptance letter (if you are still in high school).
